After learning about The Ohio State University's Wexner medical outpatient centers, we had a little under three weeks to create a boutique healthcare experience of the future that could be a part of the Ohio State brand in fifty years, designing for ourselves when we're older. This healthcare center is connected to a senior living facility, which we are designing currently, but is available to the public as well.
The Ohio State Community Care Hub is an active and integrated healthcare unit seamlessly connected to a dynamic senior living community. Our mission is to cultivate an environment where residents thrive in community, convenience, and social engagement, where life keeps going and opportunities to engage abound. Designed to defy stereotypes and embrace vitality, our hub ensures that aging doesn't have to feel old. Here, residents and local Columbus residents alike have access to comprehensive health services, wellness programs, and opportunities for meaningful connections, all within a supportive and modern setting. Regular visits for physical therapy are easy and accessible, keeping patients active, capable, and independent. Mental health services are quick to support emotional wellbeing, and general healthcare services are at residents' disposal. With basic healthcare needs all in one place, and a retail area to provide patients with what the doctor recommends them, patients can build community with the staff and with each other.
